070125: Things that made life special (last) week
Summer athleisure, sports, bubbly drinks, body care, and more
Hello and welcome to Things That Made Life Special This Week, a celebration of the pursuits that add a little something extra to the everyday. It’s late, but it’s here!
In case you missed the Wednesday newsletter, I shared a “New Heritage Series” about Daydress, a UK-based hand block print textile company.
Have you tried Roz hair yet? You can still use code JANE15 for 15% off the whole Roz Hair site—can’t be combined with other promos. Find all my favorite picks here.
This week’s recs
Using: Osea Malibu body care products
I recommended the Undaria Algae Body Oil a while back. Because it’s the best, I also decided to try the Undaria Algae Body Wash and Body Butter over the last month. They are such luxurious, effective products—and both with the same gorgeous scent as the body oil. P.S. The Undaria Body Collection gives you a $48 savings on these products!
Playing: Golf!
It has been maybe years since I’ve picked up a golf club? Such a fun treat to play a few holes with my parents this weekend, while my husband entertained the baby.
Wearing: Lululemon’s new (I think?) shorts
This must be the newsletter of doing stuff I haven’t done in forever! I took a delicious vacation, I mean 1.5-hour solo shopping trip, to the suburbs of Omaha, Nebraska the other day while my husband, again, entertained the baby. While there, I stopped into Lululemon and bought two pairs of Pace Rival shorts—I am obsessed!! These are Lululemon’s best-fitting and most comfortable shorts yet (for me at least).
I haven’t shopped there in a long time because I worked there 10 years ago and still have basically all the stuff I bought as an employee. The quality really does hold up.
I got classic colors: navy and white—but how good is the cobalt blue?
Also wearing: Outdoor Voices exercise dresses
In the same vein of light, easy summer athleisure, I added to my OV exercise dress collection (I already had navy) with white and ‘prickly pear,’ a saturated hot pink. It’s been too long since I was on the tennis court, but at least I can look the part until I’m back!
Drinking: A simple mocktail of Italian soda + flavored sparkling water
We had dinner at a dear friend’s house last night and she introduced me to mixing Italian soda with flavored sparkling water. A revelation, but intuitive when you think about it! Cuts down the sugar of just drinking an Italian soda, punches up the flavor of just drinking a flavored sparkling water. The perfect combo! And because you’re mixing two bubbly things, you don’t lose any carbonation.
Eating: BLTs
It’s summer. Need I say more?
Have a great week ahead and talk to you tomorrow!
xx Jane
