Hello and welcome to this week’s edition of The Bell! And Happy 4th of July to all my American readers!
In honor of our nation’s anniversary of independence, here’s a roundup of five Made in USA heritage (or new, but soon to become heritage) brands, hailing from all corners of the country.
Maiden Home (North Carolina)
Luxury modern furniture—at attainable prices—designed in New York and made by craftsmen in NC. You can shop from the brand’s collection or customize their designs for your space. Each piece is truly beautiful, with soft modern lines and hues.
“Core to every piece in our collection is quality craftsmanship and a deep appreciation for the maker’s touch. We’ve developed a network of bespoke artisans across America who weave generations of expertise into every piece that comes through their workroom. Leaning on the expertise of these artisans, each piece is made to order as a celebration of their craft.”
Pendleton (Oregon)
The original woolen blanket company, with a Southwestern aesthetic. In my research, I noticed that they’ve branched out into all kinds of apparel and lifestyle products, too. If I were to buy one thing, it would be the Heirloom Classic Merino Blanket in ivory.
“When the Pendleton Woolen Mill opened in 1909, it was one of more than a thousand in the United States. Today, Pendleton owns and operates two of the few remaining woolen mills. With more than a century of manufacturing, a Pendleton product carries the spirit of the West.”
All-Clad (Pennsylvania)
What to say about All-Clad that hasn’t already been said? I grew up in an All-Clad house and knew when building my own wedding registry and home that there was no acceptable alternative for stainless steel cookware! If you own one thing, get this 3-qt stainless steel sauce pan. It’s the most-used All-Clad in my kitchen. Forget all Instagram cookware brands (ahem, Our Place) and stick with the tried and true.
“All-Clad began and still operates in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, a small borough near our founder’s hometown because it offered benefits no other place could. As the birthplace of the American steel and aluminum industry, the region is unmatched when it comes to metal fabrication technology and its metalworkers are among the most skilled in the world. We’re proud to be from PA and we look forward to continue crafting the best fully bonded cookware in the world right here for generations to come.”
Rogue Fitness (Ohio)
With so much gym equipment on the market, Rogue is committed to making tough, lasting barbells, benches, racks, and all associated accessories for both the home and professional gym. Their roots are in CrossFit, a workout I don’t personally do, but I love strength training and this brand’s mission is fantastic.
“The Industrial Revolution 2.0 is something we take a tremendous amount of pride in at Rogue. Our mission early on was as much philosophical as it was anything else. Since day one, we have worked to source locally whenever possible. Over the past few decades, many of our local communities have lost their factories and places where men and women took pride in what they made every day. Many of these communities have been left with empty Main streets and crises of various sorts. With every product we have worked to source parts and materials in the following order of priority:
Local - Columbus, OH
Ohio
United States
North America
Globally”

Red Wing is where you go for sturdy, lasting leather boots and shoes. Based in Minnesota, they’re definitely tough enough to survive winter after winter. It doesn’t get more classic than this. They also make safety footwear for jobs that require boot-wearing, with waterproof, lightweight designs to protect workers and maximize comfort during a day spent on your feet.
“Red Wing Shoe Company is a business founded on purpose, and our unique heritage still shapes the way we do business today. Charles Beckman established Red Wing Shoes in 1905 to supply workers in industries likes mining, farming, and logging with durable, comfortable footwear. Today, this legacy of purposeful-craftsmanship never leaves our mind, and sustains everything we do.”
Have fun doing whatever you’re doing today, buy Made in USA when you can, and take good care of each other!
Talk to you tomorrow with this week’s recs.
